The largest monument of Alexander the Great "Warrior on Horseback", with a 24.50 meter high pedestal, is located on Makedonija Square in Skopje. It was inaugurated on September 8, 2011, on the 20th anniversary of Macedonia's independence referendum from Yugoslavia.
